Recently my check engine light has been flashing intermittently, got it scanned tonight and the code suggests that my fuel pressure sensor 1 is faulty
my question :anyone know where sensor 1 is located ?
i'm guessing since it was assigned a number there are gonna be more than one but with no user or repair manuals i'm at a loss where to start to look
almost forgot - car is a 2000 sharkmouth galant with a 4g94 engine

Hey that is an error normally associated with fuel pressure issues. Some ppl jump the gun and say your fuel pump is bad!
No the fuel pressure could just be low and can be adjusted. Also a bad fuel filter, bad as in clogged can also throw this error. Normally it is good to change the fuel filter first then see if there is any improvement.
By the way, what problems were u getting? was it sluggish and holding back/ stuttering?
Ps you can get the filter at bobbys or jurawans etc.

^^^^i've already changed the fuel filter . bought an oem filter at diamond about 2 months back so i'm relatively certain that that's not the problem .
the car just generally feels sluggish until i pick up speed then to be honest it handles beautifully . only when i decelerate or mash brakes does the light come on

Does it cut off when idling? Or when idling do you notice a drop in idle that feels almost like the car is about to shut off? Does the Check engine light come on then quickly go off? If yes to any of the above then it could be the fuel pressure level is too low on the pump.
PS what is the current cost of the filter by diamond?

car has never cut off when idling and idles normally with no threat of shutting off
check engine light fluctuates sometimes it stays on steadily, at others it just flashes on and off
is it possible to adjust the fuel pressure level on the pump ?
as for the filter diamond has it for if i remember correctly 8hundred and change...close to 9 hundred
but i got a sizeable discount through shooter boy j and ended up paying close to seven fifty or so

Strange problem Trendseta, you can have both the fuel pressure on the in tank fuel pump and high pressure fuel pump read. I can't remember the correct reading for the in tank one but on average the fuel pressure on the High pressure one should read about 5.0 MPA ( fluctuates slightly)
Yes pressure can be adjusted, you can search for fuel pump on this forum and you should find the info.
Not many ppl get problems with the in tank pump but you never know....
Hey can you remember the exact code that the scanner pulled? that would help.
Good luck !
