Sirus question

I am tossing around some ideas in my head and was wondering....
is there any 4 speed tranny that will work on a Sirus 1800?
My cousin who is a mechanic told me he saw a tranny on a 1600 gallant that looked like a toyota tranny but wasnt sure.....
any info appreciated.
