EVO 6 question

Postby Dion76 » January 8th, 2009, 12:35 pm

i just wanted to find out if there is a special side in which the exhaust suppose to be mounted? i am asking because i see some evo's with the exhaust on the right hand side and the majority have the exhaust on the left hand side...whats the reason for the different sides?

better flow = less restriction on top = less resistance at higher rpm

Check where the fuel filler is mounted... usually the exhaust will be opposite to that... for obvious reasons...

Facing the Back of the Car
E4-6 - LHS
E7-9 - RHS
The 7-9 are straighter but the Exh pressure drop on the earlier cars in not much different, especially if its 3" pipe.

2.5" with some restriction at the DP and silencers.
A full 3" from DP really wakes up the car.
