WTK: could CS lancers take super?

Postby KURMAman » October 16th, 2008, 10:08 pm

Hey, figure tuner is a good place to ask..

Was wondering if anyone here who have a 2005/06 Lancer tried to put super instead of premium as yet. And if not, why? I was wondering, so anyone with any advice or experiences would be helpful.

Thanx.

I have the 2003 CS3, I using Super Unleaded exactly a year and 1 day now   and no problems at all. Plus the Super lasts longer than Premium, that's why I stuck to it  .

on both the CS3's that I maintain(ed) - premium all the way

manual specified 95+RON for the 4G18 engine

for GDI, with 11.0 + cr super being what it is,

i wouldn't brave that

if you want to run super in the cs3a (not the CS2A) use ngk BKRE6IX-11 plugs

My padnah have a 2005 glx lancer (bought brand new from diamond) and he's been using super from day 1. He does also throw in an octane booster every few fill ups and never had any car problems to date.

  ...ent!

Octane boosters are okay..but too much additive every other fillups can damage your injectors...please use once a month at least.

Venum... I didn't have a choice had to switch. My manual stated 90RON for the injected 4G18 with the catalytic converters (unleaded) or some sheit so. 95RON for cars using leaded gas.

No power loss so far (2 full tanks)
Gas lasting longer (could be perception but I getting the same mileage driving hard with a/c on as I do with the a/c off and driving slow.)
No pinging yet.

I only buying gas from the new gas station in St. Augustine. No where else really.

D man does do it every FEW fillups, not every other. I never counted how many to know for sure.
Thanks for the advice though.
