MUTLI - T -LOCK is a good one. in manual cars it keeps the gear in reverse. it cost me $2800.

autoloc, cheaper than mul t lock and same effectiveness
local insurance co's don't give discounts for it though so theres the downside

Dave, I don't expect this from you :o

Dave wrote:autoloc, cheaper than mul t lock and same effectiveness

and there's mutli-lock and many others

those locks are not of teh original Swiss MUT-T-LOCK quality

softer steel etc

also they do not come with shear-off bolts like MUL-T-LOCK

they can be removed easier

but there ain't no thief proof solution, each anti-theft device has its flaws and work-arounds

there are only deterents and better deterents

:D

is up to teh owner - how much they willing to spend and how much protection they want

best solution - tie a killer dog to your car and sit with a M60 and guard it 24x7 when parked 24 levels undersea

:D

The guy told me with Multi t lock that the steel is that thick. that only an industrial tool can cut through it. and what thief walking around with that.

True though depends on expense and stuff.

but i know of none personally

i dunno if the Mul t lock Pin version can work on the manual..but i find the pin seems alot more effective than the shackle version, and its the same price, its alot neater, but u cant really see it, unless u look for it, so i guess dey will break into the car and then realize u have it,
but u cant really cut it unless u cut THRU the centre console cuz u cant see the pin, But i guess the acid idea would still work...
A friend of mine lock got stuck and stopped working once..u have to call the company, but he was in tobago...so he had to get it cut..

PIN is nice on auto - i love it

had it on my CS lancer

really neat install

on manual, you may stil be able to put the gear in 1 with teh pin type

i believe that is why the recommend teh shackle for manual
