sent an email to DM, saw only a black on the parts list for 02-03 lancer

Also it is just the glass that shattered, everything else is fine...opening and closing properly,no scratches.....so it doesn't really make sense buying a new one.

If i get a place to put in quality glass i would do it but if i have no choice, will have to buy a new one.

I actually intend to do this I guess the DIY just got pushed up

So today I went and purchased the cable used 8 gauge cable and while ground the third point whihc was the engine block I found that the engine ground wire was loose

I guess that was the root of the problem

I am beginning to think this car is cursed

This morning the car refused to start.
We did a scan tonight and there was no code found.
Coil packs getting signal but not firing
Injectors not pulsing
In the morning we will be at it again.
Hoping that it is not the ECU this time :?

idlemind wrote:Yes it can...ask if its the SOHC 4G15 or DOHC (they couldve removed the GDi engine cover)
If its really a GDI then they wouldve had to get the GDI ECU coz the 4G18 ECU wouldnt have worked.
ECUs in the CS control both the engine and cvt/gearbox and the 4G15 GDI and 4G18 EFI ECUs are different.

Theres a 4G15 SOHC non GDI engine for the CS again, hopefully they got the ECU for that.

The 4G15 from the CK is a completely different story (CKs have an ECU and TCU)

Long story short - Get the Chassis number and pic of engine bay.

sorry i took so long to reply bro but see pic below:

The engine # is GI-S4FF

Bella

i got one there for my wife's Lancer couple years aback

ronsin1 last time that happened to me it was the 40A ignition fuse

without that fuse u dead in the water

not even a click on the ignition, no lights either

quick repair is to open the blown fuse and solder it back.

Gayah's for replacement

I think its the alternator fuse that can cause that, 40A.....had this issue with another car however, it tumbled, power everything but never started.

check who? lol

I never had that problem so I don't know what causing it...as some men say, swap the ECU and see if it starts or not...so you go can go thru the process of elimination

well the electrician check it yesterday evening and said there was nothing wrong with the ECU and it might be the coil packs again
Said there was two common problems for Coil packs to blow like that
1. Grounding Issues
2. Alternator Overcharging

Car will be wrecked today and sent to his garage for further checks before the fourth set of coil packs are installed. He will do the install and monitor today.

^^Had the same problem and only my mech in pt fortin sorted it out with his electrician. Have extra coilpacks bcuz i thought they were blow but apparently it was some other electricial issue i have not found out this day. Car just works reliably well ever since. Before it was by 4 other electricians who never solved it.

^^^4G18

so yesterday the Electrician called and stated that the CAM Sensor and Crank Sensor will need to change as well.
I bought them yesterday however will deliver them this morning so that they can install for final check to be made.
I did not get a chance to be fully briefed on this Today I intend to get all details

I suspect is was the same ground issue caused these to go bad as well.
Original Cam Sensor $690.00 TTD
Original Crank Sensor $1,587.00 TTD

Coils packs were not changed

of back to square one Beginning to think I need to start another project Thread called ronsin1's Problematic CS3A

but in any case we spent the entire day
the Crank and CAM sensors were changed the coil packs firing. Fuel pump working but still only tumbling.

The guy needed to come back today to scan however he did not turn up.

at this point I am lost as to what is the next step.

Electrician stated whatever it takes it will be running before it eaves his yard.

Monday I will be sending my Mechanic there as well to check any mechanical issues.

I was researching on the net and found out two other reasons that can cause this.

1. flooded engine that could foul the plug (Yes a EFI engine can Flood I am shocked)
2. Spun Bearing which will bring up a fault on the crank sensor (hardly likely here are I would have picked this up)

Monday We will be back at it again

Will keep the post updated.

sorry i am late but when i came across this problem it was nothing electrical.....you will get no codes until the engine starts and the ECU records it.

so in our case the trigger wheel for the crank sensor was loose and was not properly aligned with Top Dead Center (I think its called) so ECU will not know when to fire piston 1....sound like u have this problem and maybe mech dont know how to reset this trigger wheel to correct position.

if it was not doing anything before you change the sensor it was because the trigger was not moving with the crank
now after he changed the sensor he fixed the trigger wheel in place so you get spark and fuel pulses but its out of timing with piston position so engine will not start that means the trigger is moving again.....

Trigger wheel is the flat disc which passes through the crank sensor as the engine turns

GDi 4G93T hits a cut at 15psi exact. Was running that tonight for fun and it wont go past 15psi without cutting, other than that, it pulls hard. Just only did a few pulls and dropped it back stock as it was not my controller. At 15.5 or more it just cuts completely.
