^ ^ ^ If it's only the left-side engine mount then that should be a straightforward mod.

Does the firewall/tunnel... or left-side strut-tower need cutting? I'm still unsure about the main problem from the pix.

The top mount swap is the easy part. The firewall doesn't need any modifications. If u look at the pic, the mount on the right that's for the Tranny. The way its made up, the chassis is arched, to facilitate the length of the transmission. When I reverse the positions of the mount i.e(the new engine will bolt where the old transmission came from) that arch will probably have to be replicated on the opposite side in order for the new transmission to be installed. I hope my descriptive abilities aren't confusing readers, I'll take photographs of it tomorrow to post.

Hi Guys,

I have been having a problem with the brakes on my EVO VII.

I recently realised that the problem is emanating from my ride side brake or rotor not too sure.

Problem:
I have been hearing a rather loud trumpeting sort of sound coming from my right side brakes. Its even worse when I reverse. When driving forward the noise is not really existent but when reversing it is noticeably loud.

I've also heard it sometimes while braking at various traffic lights along the highway. I have also noticed my ABS check light popped on a couple of times but it quickly pops back off.

Any idea what this could be??

I tried doing a diagnostic but the check light has to be on to determine the problem.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Maybe pads almost out... wear indicator maybe...

If not, what's the condition of the pads and rotors?

Perhaps abs light = sensor failing... what you can do is take off the wheel from that side and remove the abs sensor... make sure it's not too dirty or caked with dust and clean around the abs ring and see.

Wondering if this is possible.

Have the local 4g92 and have been trying to solve the problem almost a year now and can't get it fixed. Whenever the engine is cold or the car is parked for a lengthy period, I have to keep my foot on the gas pedal for the engine to warm up. Not doing this causes it to just cut off. If the AC is turned on the RPM drops and the same happens when turning. Adjusting the idle screw is temporary as it resorts to the same problem in about 1 week or so.

I was told the idle sensor was bad and needed changing and due to the length of time it was bad, the brain may have been damaged and needs changing too. I got some replacement sensors and brains to test but the problem still persists. I have even run diagnostics and nothing shows up. Throttle body was serviced as well and still nothing.

The idle sensor on my throttle body is a small 6 pin jack arrangement whereas the ones on the non local 4g92 is a bigger 6 pin jack. I was wondering if it is possible to use the non local throttle body and just cut the smaller jack and rewire with the bigger jack using the same local MR507191 brain.

Would that have any problems ?

if the wires are the same you could try and pry out the ones on the original jack and fit em in the new one.

Bushing wise i can't say for total but there's

(front)
Front cradle arm bushing x 2 (small)
Rear cradle arm bushing x 2 (large)
Stab. bar bushing x 2
stab bar link kit bushigs x 8

Can't say for rear.

Another thought came to mind after Googling a few pics.

Can a different throttle body work with the local 4g92? I noticed the 4g15 has a similar make up and uses the same 3 vacuum ports like the 4g92. The only difference I noticed was the jack for the IAC. Assuming I get the jack to fit, can it work using the same local brain ( MR507191 ) ???

Hey all;

I live in Antigua and drive a 2005 lancer cs3a model with a 4g18 engine. It has a cvt tranny and i want to make my car faster and change it over to a manual. Where in trinidad i can get a half cut with an engine that will fit bolt for bolt and roughly how much should i expect to spend on one?

perhaps 4G93 or even 4G63... but then why go 4g15? the inlet may be smaller...

Honestly I can't say, but if you're looking for this sort of thing, perhaps you should post it in the car part forum... you may get better luck there.

What's the bore size on a 4g92 throttle body?

And what other throttle body has the same bore size if any ?

Yes it will!

There was a time on tuner where a CS9A (4G63-CS Lancer) was for sale! It came manual too. Car sold pretty quickly I must say.

It is really hard to get. You will more get the 4G63 SOHC than DOHC.

Maybe you can call bicks...or take a drive down by penal by bicks compound which has about 5 or 6 different auto parts shop.

anyone knows where sells alternator brushes????
when i checked there was gunk inside the brush holder, where the brushes meet the commutator. so guessing they weren't making proper contact. they look a bit worn down so i wanna change them one time.

hey guys... the 4g15 sohc fuel injected throttle body is very hard to find and when u do find one the cost is very very high.. is there some replacement TB i can use?

Hmm..that sounds like the transmission needs to get service!

Check the tranny fluid dip stick and see if you find any black color residue on it or smell for a burnt scent.


i thought this was a normal thing cuz all my ck wit 4g engines did this

have a pajero io its engine a 4g94 and it burning oil. People say parts hard to get to rebuild the engine. Want to know if the 4g94 turbo could fit bolt for bolt and if the tranny could work with this engine
Also want to know where i could source this engine.
need help
