hey guys I noticed that the cooling fan on the radiators (drivers side) doesnt spin while the ac is on and the engine running, Is this normal with these CY's maybe a high temp fan? or does it suppose to come on when ac in turned on. There is no difference is ac's performance, it colds normally so whats the deal with this fan? can someone have look in their car and see whats the normal operation of this fan like with the ac on thanks.

my dash reading is normal , no temperature rise and ac working perfectly too. Am thinking it may have been like dat for a while. So without the ac on in your car, does both cycle and always in sync or jus one comes on and off ?

turns out the ac fan is dead, about a month ago i went to the ac guy and he removed the top radiator hose to reach some metal line to do some test or something, when he removed it alot of coolant fell on the ac fan which is right below it, didnt make anything of cuz it worked normally after but apparently it murdered the fan slowly but surely. I remove the old fan already and when i tilted it to one side, coolant was leaking out, just a little but was too late. Lesson learnt now i need to go back to the bamboo where i saw a front cut to salvage the ac fan. I also saw a 4b11 2.0L engine and the guy wanted $18,000 for it.

Hey guys,

Need your help on something. This lady i work with recently bought a CY from CarMax. It's the 2.0L and the sales guy actually told her to use Premium gas in the car. He even filled the tank for her and she has been using premium for the past month.

She wised up, read the manual and saw that the manuf recommend super for the 2.0L engine.

How do you all suggest she change from premium to super?

Run the tank down to almost empty and jus refill with super?
Half tank with premium and half with super?...then slowly phase the premium out?

Any help will be appreciated.

The GT uses 92 up. Considering reports that super is not consistent at 92. I use the premium. Do a search I covered this already.

I got mine out off the uk. Think it was £77 for the set.

What site did you buy it off of SHO? If it was an online site? last year I bought a MAP sensor for my lancer from the UK, I paid 45 pounds for it. That particular site has plugs for the 4A91 but they classify that engine for the mitsu colt and they are platinum tip not iridium.

Rockauto is safe.
I get stuff for my CS there, and I know other lancer owners get their parts there as well.

Rockauto caters mainly to the 2.0 and 2.4 equipped chassis so beware of engine parts and some brake parts.

I bought a GT model from Diamond back in 2011 and i switched to super when the price of gas went up, since that time to now i use super all the time. $130 to full and 520KMS you can't go wrong, no problems at all and i service at the firm.

I recently paid $920 for spark plugs in Diamond motors when I went for my 103K service/oil change. I have not noticed any major difference with the new spark plugs, the old ones still looked good. Diamond motors insist that you do not need to replace until the car passes 100K service.
It looks like they were right.
Please let us know if you get your parts and the price you paid.

The plugs should last 100,000kms depending on some peoples driving habits that might be real years so its a matter of preference and budget :/
