Your engine could be pinging. Causes are wrong or bad quality gas. If you are using super, try premium. Look on the gas tank lid to see the required octane rating of gas you should be using.
If you are using the correct octane of gas, try filling up at newer gas stations that have double filtered gas.

I have never used super in my car, should I do anything to fix it before I try a new gas station

BTW octane boosters are a waste of money, as it only raises the RON by 0.1 so it's actually cheaper to use premium instead of a booster...

Use fuel treatment all the time so would try the booster
