exactly what i am doing. i wanna start dex though, but ppl tell me that is abusing the car..what are your views on dex?

My Evo is roadworthy but already retired for upgrade to "Weekend Warrior"/Solodex use only. Plus converting 4wd GSR to E6 TME status...so plenty cars... none on the road right now.
IMHO Solodex is not abuse if you prepare the car properly and is a great way to let off steam.
IMHO basics include... upgraded clutch... brake pads (Ferodo DS 2500)...
better tyres (more adhesion)... wider 17" rims (so tyres last longer)...
Then you have 'dex only wheels that are used only once or twice a month! (Cheaper.)

Don't launch all the time... Be gentle and "roll" off the clutch pedal...
(easier on the AYC for Evo GSR owners)
... Less of a problem for RS owners (LSD tougher.)
Focus during gearchanges too... you're not breaking rocks...
Then STICK YOUR FOOT UP HER AZZ!... No abuse there IMHO...

Check the Image MadMen Forum on Zorce for economical upgrade ideas.

Imagine it have some men "bashing" the X, what are they driving? they need to put on their hazards lights and pull aside on the road and let this car pass.

Bess car.

^ ^ ^ Most of the bashing comes from Evo drivers.
"Good"... but not yet "Great!"... Not quite enough "Evo" for the money yet!

Based of Road Tests and Reviews, the bashing is warranted too. Older Evos don't corner
quite as well but almost any Evo, from Evo 5 to Evo 9 is quicker 0-to-60 and in a 1/4 mile.

What is your opinion?... Read the link --> What can Mitsubishi do to improve the Evo X?... cast your "Vote"... then ADD your $0.02¢ there.

The more info, the better. Thanks SHO.

BTW... the front drive-shafts (axles) in your new 1.5 Lancer... Are they equal length? Unequal length front drive-shafts (and no LSD) is the usual cause of Torque Steer in FWD cars.

The only thing I like about the evo x is the sleeker shark face that is applicated to this EVO :D . It also comes with S-AWC....and a better Mivec Turbo engine that I love....other than that, the car fails in looks.

JUS4SHO, I was looking up on the specs of the evo x and i observed that it comes with two shift modes????

A normal gear shifter, and the other is the paddle shifter located on the steering wheels. What's the reason for this?

Guys

I've got a 10 and it is the best evo I've driven, an. I had a 4, a 7 and an STi and the 10 is on an entirely different platform from all of the above.

Aside from the looks, this car handles amazingly. I love it personally.

I'm from south, it's rally red, it's a GSR and no pics.

What makes it better? I see that many of the comments here about the X is leading toward the acceleration or quarter mile specs of the car. Guys/Gals let me tell you there's a lot more to this car than that. The car's weight distribution is incredible, it feels almost perfectly balanced if not perfectly, the traction during spirited driving in downright amazing. I've done things with this car that I honestly could not think of doing with my previous evo's or STi.

Many of us may know or remember when your car just feels right. This car feels amazing. It is an incredible feeling driving behind the wheel. I wasn't too impressed when I first accelerated, but when I continued to drive the car, I was blown away and I was so happy I got it.

I've already ordered a bunch of performance parts for the car and it will be doing about 400 WHP within a month. I prefer not to disclose more about the performance parts.

In summary this is the most incredible, responsive and rewarding sport car I've ever driven. It is absolutely the best evo I've driven (even in stock form) and it is certainly 'better' than my '05 STi. Cannot compare to newer STi's though. I hear that the '08 STi is awesome as well.

I cannot imagine what this will feel like with 400WHP.

As far as the looks go...well we all like and appreciate different things...we've got different tastes...it's relative I guess. This car is beautiful...damn beautiful...you've got to LOOK and one and you'll see. That's just my opinion...

Well Having seen both in real (in my area to boot ), I honestly have to give the nod to the Evo X in looks. Yeah the new STi looks aggressive with the bumper flairs and so on, but the Evo X really has the "mean" look to it from the front. The only thing is that I find the back looks a little too much like a regular "new" lancer....but say what......

Alright that's true.

But at least the older CK lancers (and CS) looked markedly narrower than their "Evo" brethren.

Looking at a "regular" new lancer and a Evo X (assuming the same colour) is almost like looking at a TS and an STi.

there's a silver one in that area (i could be wrong about the area). But that's old news  :?
