Good day all. I need your expertise on an issue I’m having. Even when my tank is full (diesel), the fuel gauge only goes up to half or a little under half. Any ideas what causes this and how to solve this? It’s a 2001 Toyota Hiace.

Some of the hilux do this

Check the sender in the tank and make sure it sending signal throughout the sweep of the float
If it is then it may be the instrument panel

If thats the case, check MicroSMD lab

681-6610

He will be able to diagnose and repair if its the panel

Thanks appreciate it. However, how do I check the sender? I’m not knowledgeable in this particular area. Update: I YouTubed the information and got it, thanks again.

Well its simply to test the max and minimum voltage/impedence (cant remember which it is) with a multimeter
