Need some advice toyota Axio aircondition

Postby angeleyez » January 7th, 2020, 1:07 pm

Recently bought a Toyota Axio 2009, and every Axio i checked prior to that had air condition issues. Fast forward to today, so the one i purchased has the same issue. Upon speaking with someone who does air conditioning i was told about
1. Using a almera compressor
2. Using a Toyota compressor which is a replacement to what is already in.
3. A new bottleneck Toyota compressor.
4. A nze compressor.
Any advice on what can be used for the best performance i would be very grateful, and which is more costly. Thank you.

Rite now I have to change my compressor in a fielder 2009 141 model I was advised that the present compressor has a sensor that goes bad an cant be replaced the technician told me to use the 121 model compressor bcuz that doesnt have the sensor that goes faulty so I'm thinking about the way forward I've gotten the same info from two different technicians say it has to be true

Had a 2008 Axio, same sort of AC problem.
Superstainless1250 is spot on with his comments.

- Don't bother with #2. You will spend thousands and be in the same situation in a couple years. Also, you'll see some jokers selling the solenoid (which is the reason why these compressors go bad) for bout $800-$1200 which again, you will be in the same situation in a couple years.
- Best options imho is #1 and #3.
- #3 and #4 is pretty much the same unless you mean the Singapore NZE which uses a different compressor and are harder to get which makes #4 irrelevant.

I have done the Almera compressor conversion in my 141 fielder wagon on December 27th 2017.

To this date I have not had to service the AC system. It's quite literally the best decision I've ever made concerning that car.

What was done
-3 bolt QG Compressor
-AC lines Redone
-Changed Evaporator (my original one had a leak)
-Changed every rubber O-ring in the system

-Vacuum Test
-Regassed the system

Have not touched it since.

Everything came up to about $3000 inclusive of labour and parts. Done by Rakesh AC Services in Carapo

I did the almera compressor and no problem with the ac since 2016 but i did notice a reduction in accelaration.. the car runs a bit lazy.. not sure if anyone had that same issue.. also idk if its the idle, when warm it stays around 625rpm

Change compressor, flush condenser or change, change expansion valve, change dryer bag. The problem is the control valve. When you start you’re vehicle do it with the ac off..

RK air-conditioning 6369283 has original compressor for about $4000 that should be best and would work like original, clutch type compressor would put slight strain on engine so you would feel less power.
The control valve which give problem is computer control, so power of engine would be adjusted when compressor is working.

if you want to get a bottleneck compressor new at a reasonable price you can order it from amazon or rockauto.com. buy Denso brand as it is the OEM manufacturer for Toyota. best option is to use the clutch type bottleneck compressor as the issue with the newer electronically controlled compressors is the solenoid valve failure. Look for the compressor for a 2005 toyota echo or scion xb as they both carried the same engine as the japanese nze which uses the bottleneck compressor.

In older systems that was less electrically controlled, that was typically an issue where the fan wasn't cooling the condenser off hence when moving air flow would cool it and when at a stand still the AC would not be cold.
So the fan and what controlled it was where you started looking.

Toyota has a long or short solenoid so you will have to remove the gas, snap ring and pull it out.

Maraj Air Condition Aranquez has them for around $800. The brand is Santech.

Did one for my 06 JDM Corolla.

I'll have to find a photo of the packaging for a part number.
