NZE121 Oxygen Sensor

Postby dtopshottas » May 21st, 2019, 7:41 am

Hey Tuners,
Any good alternatives for the oxygen sensors on a 06 NZE121? Looking for an alternate route other than the $200USD option. Can the "generic" ones in the auto parts shop work?

I changed mines with a generic NGK (like the spark plug, or rather it was NKG can't remember) bought at a local parts store for a few dollars. Worked fine for years no issues. Just had to cut the wires to reconnect the new one as I did this myself and it was much. much easier to do this for me than tracing the wires under the seat etc.

I just replaced the two oxygen sensors on a 2004 Local NZE121. Ordered the replacements from Amayama.

For anyone else planning to DIY, please note the following.
1. 89465-12620 is located between the catalytic converter and the engine. It has a slightly longer cable than 89465-12630.
2. 89465-12630 is located between the catalytic converter and the rear of the vehicle. It has a slightly shorter cable than 89465-12620.
3. The sensors came with anti-seize pre-installed.

I could not find this information prior to doing the job so I am placing it here for the benefit of others. Additionally, when I called TTTL, I was told that the sensors were the same. I found this strange as they carried different part numbers.
