AE101 problem

Postby dgerman » September 1st, 2017, 5:36 pm

My Tachometer is not working on my AE101. Not sure if it the panel or something else. What can be the issue if it's not the instrument panel? Also my overdrive button does nothing, seems not to be pressing and releasing as in my other AE100, any suggestions?

Most likely it's the panel.
Tach only uses one signal wire that goes back to the negative terminal on the dizzy coil. So unless that wire is broken my guess would be that it's the panel.

And what you mean the O/D not doing anything?
Not doing anything as in not getting the kick down when you turn it off @ certain speeds?

Was the tach ever working?

Is the engine in the car a conversion or the original engine?

I've seen so many conversions with just the bare minimum electrical done to get the engine started and running
