So my sister in law bought an aqua a couple weeks ago and when I was looking at the engine I saw quite a number of rusted hose clips. So I told her to get them changed. The she tells me that they didn't give her the car that she had checked out. She had viewed the 2016 model and they gave her a 2017 so she didn't complain. I feel they try some smart shot and something wrong with the vehicle or something may go wrong with it. My feeling is that it was a flooded vehicle that was cleaned up. Any thoughts?

Most likely this car came from a coastal area in Japan. It will have small parts rusted. and the aluminium parts will be whitish.
Peace. RR.

Thanks, yup aluminium parts whitish too as you said. Any issue to look out for as a result of the car coming from the coastal area?

No. I don't think you will have issues, as the modern car has lots of underbody protection etc. Too, cars like Aqua are pretty new, But just for any doubts, put the car on a ramp and check.
In the days when we were allowed to import 6-year-old cars, some of the exporters like Zulfiqar and Kobemotors sent us some unacceptable units.
Regards,
RR.

I'll be getting my 2018 Aqua in a couple weeks and I'd like to know what are the things I can do myself when it comes to servicing and what I'll have to go to a mechanic to do. For eg, I can change the oil but is there an oil light that i'll have to get reset by a mechanic?

There's no oil light to reset.
Whatever maintenance you can do on any other car, you can do on an Aqua.
