It is not a conventional CVT transmission so it doesn't break down the viscosity as quickly due to less heat etc. I took front and purchased 4qts of ATF-WS though and changed it. The fluid that was drained out was dark. Did I feel any noticeable difference after the change? Nope.
On another note, the coolant appears to be shared between, engine and inverter. According to the sticker I captured and posted, you don't need to change that after 240,000kms or 150,000miles. Lastly the spark plugs are good for 100,000kms since it's a Denso Iridium tip plug. The engine air filter and cabin air filter you can change at your convenience based on how it looks. If dark and dirty then change it and do it yourself. It's simple. The other item that doesn't need to be touched until the front pads burn out is the brake fluid. Pads and shoes last long since friction is also absorbed by the regen braking system. Oil and filter can change based on how you perceive the service should be which is typically every 5,000kms or 3months. With amsoil full synthetic 0W-20, oil change intervals can last up to 25,000kms or 1 year and thanks to the strength of the drivetrain's EV capability, you can actually go full term since the ICE is not running 25% of the time at minimum. Lastly, there are no belts to change. Such an economical car to own and maintain. I wish I had access to this technology since I was 17. The money I would save alone on city commutes would be significant for more worthwhile investments.
agent007 wrote:Frydry it appears so. I think the entire cooling system is connected in the Aqua and both fluids is the same "Toyota super long life coolant" which is 2 gallons in total. Open to correction myself.
Was actually getting one for 55k in south..*KRONIK* wrote:Lol cool.
Still didnt get to to "look" yet...but maybe next week.

thanks to all of you who responded to my request to post your mpg
I took the plunge and ordered a Fielder Hybrid (NKE165) 2014
I was looking at the Aqua, Fielder and Prius for a lil while and was always coming out with the Fielder on top for different personal reasons. Coming from a Mitsubishi background both diesel and gas , I just don't like the Prius for all the electronics it has
I figure I rather step into this world slowly before jumping all in, pace myself, also I don't have a lot of time to run down car problems, which is why I stuck to Mitsu's so long
also with the tax exemptions being removed from the Prius, I am seeing less on the road, so I hope that it doesn't affect the widespread availability of parts and consumables. however since the Prius started declining in imports (Dec 2017) I have seen an increase in the Aqua and FH on the roads.
the Aqua was just too small for my family needs, although the price now was better suited to my budget. I got the basic model Fielder Hybrid at a pretty good price so I took the plunge. Waiting to have it delivered end of June 2018.
not seeing much information online here for FH, but more for Aqua and Prius, so I feel I will just contribute on here.
seeing in person from my research that the FH and the Aqua have engine and drivetrain similarities. which is a good thing.
concerning the importation via dealers, there are some downright nasty and unscrupulous dealers out there that are selling the Axio and FH the same price as the non hybrids. Imagine I went to a popular dealer in La Romaine, Bamboo Village who advertised the regular Fielder for $120K and the Fielder Hybrid for the same price. What happened to the tax exemptions? it went into his pockets. Seeing the FH for as low as $83K cash and $90K bank financing from other dealers and the Aqua for $65K
saw a guy advertising the Hybrid Battery Clinic or something so in Duncan Village San Fernando, I know him as an electrician and a good one.
looking forward to sharing and learning more from here
what oils and filters are you using in the 1NZFXE? What about tranny fluid?
Mitsu man here so bear with me
