4AGE 20v Blacktop Conversion, Help needed

Hey guys so i'm doing a conversion on my corolla wagon from a 5afe to a 4age 20v, however my mechanic told me that the tachometer from my current guage cluster will not work. Is there anyway i can make it work or will the tachometer from a 4afe guage cluster work? I need to know since the bz touring clusters are hard to find. Any help will be GREATLY APPRECIATED!
