Cluster swap for ae100

Postby trinimanic » July 26th, 2014, 2:02 pm

Hi guys just looking for a little info. I have the Ae100 corolla Automatic and the cluster came without a tachometer. I heard that the one with the tachometer could be used with no wiring needed was going to buy one today and the fella in the bamboo said that wiring is needed. Can someone let me know which one it is?

most likely wiring will be required. not much though, jus maybe switch around a few pins and possibly hook up a tach signal, small work.

Wanted to make this a DIY project. Really did not want to tamper with the car electrical. Out of 10 how hard would you say and tools that might be needed

screwdriver, multitester, electrical tape or heat shrink, a few peices of wire and maybe and ecu pinout diagram & thats it. only way to know is to line up ur panel against the one with the tach and trace back the electrical connections on the panels since u plan on diy. its really simple. jus takes a little time is all.
