NZE Toyota help

nze toyota idling badly, when i take my foot of the gas pedal it picking up speed still. I recently changed a VVT sensor the mech say da sensor was for power i ran a diagnostic check which say to service the throttle body. Is it possible that the sensor i changed is wrong hence it sending a bad signal which in return causing the problem to appear to be the throttle body. FYI in neutral and all is songing as though i mashing gas
