sr5 HIlux 1998 model

Can anyone advise on raising the sr5 hilux using the torsion bars? I am told it will throw out the suspension. I am installing 31x10.5x15 tyres and it rubbing against the fire wall closer to the rocker panel. the offset in the rims is a bit too much on the outside
