WTK steering rack differneces corolla AE100 and what prices

well when i ask about a steering rack for my corolla AE100 the F/used dealers ask which type my car has ie Aluminium /Cast iron.

what is the differences in power steering racks Aluminium /Cast iron?

Are they interchangeable, if u cant get one or the other?

I would like someone to shed some light on this topic because it's true when I looking for a steering rack the FU dealers asked me the same thing... Aluminum or cast iron. Would like to know if it doesn;t matter seem like it does.

basically wat a guy in bamboo told me was that the power steering hoses line up different for each......where the hoses for the aluminum longer......so most likely hadda carry d car for them to see.....well dais what d guy said wen he took a look at mine in d Dx

I had this same problem ,some of the racks are 17'' bore fore the line and some are 19'' ..........
