Toyota 4EFTE Conrods

Glanza EP91vs GT Starlet EP82
Most engines built in 1995 and after will have the EP91 rods.....an all engine built before 95 will have the thick rods. Apparently the EP91 Con Rod is 11g lighter than EP82, also the piston pin is 11g lighter, and shorter in the EP91. The Glanza is a heavier car so Toyota also gave it an extra turbo blade in the CT9-B.

Toyota obviously felt that the EP82 motor was over engineered.

^^EP82..........All of these have thicker rods

^^EP91........Some have slimmer rods but all are thicker than 4EFE
lighter rods allow the engine to build up revs more quickly an have higher safe rev limit
So a Glanza has lighter rods, higher rev limit, improved turbo
