currently im repairing a ceres which holds a 4afe 16 valve

engine block has a crack on it

head gasket failed and on further looking at the old gasket it wasnt seating properly and the gasket was deformed (which gave me a idea it was blown a while ago)

changed out the gasket and the plugs gasket ( o rings around where the valve covers meets the plugs which was also blown )

on start up the engine block started throwing oil through the crack on the block (didnt know it had a crack on the block before )

i need some advice

do i go with a 4afe head and block

or can a go with a 5afe head and block? ( getting a steal of a deal) on one

suppose to be faster than a regular 5a because 4afe use 4-2-1 header from factory

cant say for sure about the speed gain

because the gasket was blown a while ago from what i saw

it was heavily deteriorated , what caused the crack in the block was unknown but it was widen due to the fans stopped working due to a faulty temp sensor
