went engine hunting today to replace my 21r which is in working condition but i would like something without a carb

anyway for my budget of 8k i came across the 1g-fe,1g-ge*not sure of the ge* and 1g-gze all complete and all within my budget.

i also came across a non turbo 2jz also complete for the same price as the above engines

my question is in terms of replacement parts which of these engines wud be the easiest to source?

i am not so much worried with the power but with the availability of the parts

Also, if you get the engine mounts from a jzx81 and use a *x81 crossmember, the engine should bolt up original in your car without modification.

All x8 crossmembers are the same, you need the jzx81 motor mounts or jzx90 in reverse.. if in a cress you need front sump.

^didnt know you could use the jzx90 mounts in reverse. So op you have two options if you decide to go this way...

^guy has an 8k budget for everything (engine and conversion) and no just an engine alone so 2jz-gte is out. Also, tha engine would warrant suspension and braking upgrades and that's an additional cost

If you go 2jz in a rx60 Cressida you need rear sump, the front sump sits directly on the cross and you'll get the front sump anyhow unless someone decided to scarp their MKiv (not likely) . Any of the 2jz's in a Cressida or any similar car would warrent suspension and brake change so if that wasn't in you plan sorry to burst your bubble.

I say go 2jz if you haven't already.
