check the specs/requirements/grade on the toyota cvt oil and tranny and buy a brand that is available here with the same or better specs...being toyota, and different brand shouldnt cause any issues, once the specs are the same or better, infact there maybe improvements... toyota trinidad uses castrol, but amsoil and royal purple better and when used and compared to the castrol, there's improvement...

Did the ns2 work? I have the same model vehicle and I used the ns2 but there is a delay when I am changing the gear when the fluid is hot.
Did you exprience any problems?

Please provide the following:
What is your overall view of the service at C.A.S.?
The CVT transmission on your NZE141 has a dip-stick or accessible receptacle where the CVT oil can be poured into and an undercarriage drain plug for the old oil to flow out?
OR
is your transmission a "sealed" one, where the oil had to be pumped out and pumped back in using machinery to perform the oil change?
What process did C.A.S. do to carry out the oil change?
Your detailed feedback would greatly help.
best regards

Sorry for the late response my transmission is the sealed type and they had to pump out the fluid and pump in the new one. The eneos is red in colour like the original toyota fluid hope the response was helpful.

This is a good response and a very positive development for all those other CVT related topics
I would like to press on and ask you a bit more:
* what year of manufacture is your vehicle?
* Your vehicle is what people call "the new shape/model" corolla fielder?
* what was your mileage on your car when you did the CVT oil change?
* What is the process to get a CVT service by C.A.S: appointment or "drive-in"-first come first serve?
* what is the cost for the service?
* what is the cost of the CVT Eneos oil and how many quarts are needed?
* How long did the actual service on the CVT take?
thanks

labour charges probably high due to vacuum pumps not commonly available.
hopefully more will be on the market and prices come down

I changed my cvt oil in the fielder today by a transmission guy in aranguez
bought two pails $570 each, used about 1 and a quarter pails
labour cost $200
the place appears to be very professional and they do a lot of repairs also including to cvt's
he showed me a tiida cvt transmission to see how they work with the two pulleys and steel belt
they didn't use a pump or appear to need one, simply drained the plug first then took down the sump pan for remainder to drip out, guess its no problem for them since they accustomed taking them apart. the engine is started at idle afterwards to get the oil moved and then top up.
it would appear that because cvt's use a belt friction system the oil should be changed regularly.

The fielder cvt tranny has a torque converter and it's unlikely the procedure would have flushed same.

correct, but unless the oil is terribly bad, with regular changes that bit of old in there should not be considered catastrophic

Ok tuners.. New here and u guys seem to know your stuff.. I want a 2012 fielder but I am hesitating cuz of the cvt and all the horror stories so can anyone tell me..
1) What sort of trouble do the cars give if at all they do in fact give trouble?
2) What is the general cost of maintenance, parts, etc
3) Has anyone had any bad experiences?
4) Any general feedback would also be appreciated..
