Yes folks, check out the 1967 2000 GT. When your papa was in short pants, and BVD did not arrive in sweet T&T as yet !

Exclusivity (This is one of 351 cars made, and only 1 of 84 Left Hand Drive models), Elegantly Styled (Said to be the Japanese Jaguar XK Type), Produced by Master Craftsmen (Hand-built by Yamaha with the same precision as their Violins and Pianos), and with impeccable provenance. This is said to be the finest Toyota 2000 GT Coupe available in the states.
Of the 351 cars made, only 84 were left hand drive, of which only 62 came into the U.S.A. between 1967-70. Today less than 40 of those are known to still exist, making this one of the rarest collector vehicles in the world.
All 2000GT’s were handbuilt by Yamaha, and today are universally regarded as being the first Japanese “Supercar”. Fitted with a 2 liter, twin cam six cylinder engine with 3 twin-choke carburetors and a 5-speed transmission the GT ‘redlines’ at 7000rpm, producing speeds of 70 mph in 2nd; 100 in 3rd; and just below 140 mph in top end.
This engine could have been the forerunner to the BEAMS 2000cc 6-cyl in the Altezza !

It was the first twin cam M series engine, so perhaps more the forerunner of the 7M-GE and 7M-GTE that powered Crowns, Cressidas and Supras in the late 80s early 90s.
