2003 nze corolla, once it warms up for 5 mins problem is gone. what happens is that when you start and try driving off there in no power as if the fuel pump is failing. mashing right down will get it to move. i'm the 4th person working on it. MAF changed twice, full service, ultra sonic on the injectors, changed injectors, coolant temp, plugs, coil pack, pump, regulator, ecu . Note i only try the coolant temp, ecu and coils. Techs in toyota baffled. the sweetest part is no engine code

Sounds like the engine gum up,drop the sump pan and clean out the oil strainer & see if that helps!

excessive valve noise?
open the valve cover and look at the condition of the cams
sounds gunk related need a good combustion chamber cleaning/engine flush

try switching gases. premium 2 super or vice versa. o2 sensor bank 1 sensor one, check it's behaviour at cold start up. if when revved and let go it runs lean an stays a few seconds before riching up again could be possible cause. is this a white nze by chance. think i saw this by us the other day if it is that

thanks for the reply. no the car is silver. i think i found it, a solenoid on the transmission sticking when the engine cold, keeping it on 3rd got the code P1755. I'm not that good when it comes to tranny so it was sent to a transmission guy. Will let you all know how it goes.

Its common. When the car is cold it runs stupidly rich. Do not run the car hard when its cold and do not mash to the ground you only making it worse. Switching gas will probably not help. Is it worse when the weather is cold?

Guys,
I recently bought a 2001 NZE corolla and experienced the same problem as discussed above. I took it to my mechanic ( in chase village) for general oil change and tune up and he sorted out this problem normel.....
He said he did the following:
Changed plugs..... Model number obtained from a book he has in his shop. ZRS XXXX....
Serviced Injectors ......
Changed Oil..... Mineral oil 10W50 i believe.
Changed Air and Oil Filter.
I trust this guy totally and i dont usually question his choice on Plugs/Oil etc.
Hope this helps.
