Fellas,
Am at my wit's end here: Trying to slacken the Crank pulley bolt on a blacktop (in order to change the timimg belt & tensioner).. not for hell i can't get it slackened!!
i tried power handle... tried using a dewalt impact driver.. nothing works that nut just don't want to slacken at all....
any ideas on what to do?? BTW does it slacken anti-clockwise as normal or it is a reverse kinda thread?? Am doubting myself now because that sucker just wont budge !!

u shudnt tell the man tumble nah...
just a little "crank".. check to see if it loosen, and crank again.
DO NOT turn the switch for the engine to start!... especially with the powerhandle on the bolt lol...
if he not feelin confident bout doing it, get some one else to do it for u.
if the engine is on the ground, u will hav to lock the flywheel in position and turn from the front with the powerhandle.

If the engine is on the car, do as shinakuma says, but if its on the ground, you will need a special select tool to do the job.

If it's on the ground, you'll definitely need air tools to get the bolt out...either that or you could ghetto it with the same socket and power handle and jump the starter with one of those trigger thingies.
Then, regardless of whether it's on the car or not. You'll still need this:

OK fellas....... Either bolt loosens or Crankshaft buss or power handle bend

Question now is who has a pulley puller (near Tunapuna) after bolt slackens??
(Yes, I am cheap & prefer to learn to help myself, rather than check a bonafide mechanic shop)
