question 20v s/t

Postby subzero8714 » July 30th, 2009, 10:34 am

Question:
is there a screw somewhere to adjust air/fuel ratios manually like a carburetor? if so, where is it located on the engine? and would this adjustment affect the way that the ecu would normally trim air/fuel ratios automatically?

Problem:
every time i hook up the o2 sensor, my air/fuel gauge reads extremely rich, under all driving conditions, and the car backfiring and stuttering as though starving for gas, when i step on the throttle hard then it pulls off good until i need to stop and move off again. without o2 sensor connected car driving good but burning alot of gas. what you guys think????????

sounds like your O2 sensor is bad
have you checked it?

its a used sensor, heater working, but i dont wanna test the signal side cuz i've read that a multi meter can damage sensors when checking signal ohms
plus i tried 2 other sensors and it was the same thing

There is no air screw. Usally the a/f ratio is mapped from your afm and tps to the ecu.

actually there is one...if u look under the flat side of the afm u will see it but its not recommended u mess with it...the only time i used that screw for tuning was on a wideband and u have to take ur time with it.....thats why the bt 20v is so much better, m.a.p and u good to go
