When I changed the engine in my Ae90, I found out the original dash has a cable that hookup to a gear in the transmission to work (not a mechanic, so it might be called something else).
The 20V speedometer use an electronic speedometer.
You could get the gear attachment and hook the cable up to the Trans but the Brain Box hocks up to that area and uses it to change the gears.
So with that said.... My dashboard has a Tach built-in, so I was told that I get the attachment to hook the Speedometer cable up to the Trans and an electrician can use the tack to change the gears.
So you need a dash with a tachometer.
I was going to do this with my car but the job came up I needed to leave the country.
I actually have a new dash with a built in Tach to swap out with the one I have in the car, when I get it done, if you want the cluster from the old dash I will give it to you D3monic.
