E manage problem?

Postby haydn28 » November 27th, 2008, 11:11 am

i heard from a popular starlet tuner that u cannot use the e manage blue on the 4efte with 3 wires on the tps .
the reason for this according to him is that the throttle will only give a fully open or fully closed reading, and will therefore give trouble with tuning the e manage.
any ideas? :?:

I have a greddy e manage .but have not install it as yet due to engine up grade.

The greddy comes with the air fuel harness and other harness is sold separate apart from the unit .

The greddy have istruction showing the wires and how to install.Read the manual , u see the tps wire is one wire from the harness.Look at the wire diagram and u will see.

If not look on line for it .It easy to find the diagrams in english.

if not check the jumper setting and see if it matchs the 4efte jumper settings for the greddy.

i have an e manage diagram and i agree with what you said, but what is troubling me is that the tuner said you need to tune at full throttle and at part throttle and the 3 wire tps will only give a full throttle and closed throttle reading .
I have never herd of this problem anywhere in tnt or on online forums with the e manage.
i dont have an engine management as yet and i was strongly considering the e manage blue. as i dont have cash to go stand alone. if any one has tuned an e manage on a 4efte with a 3 wire tps , would like know about it.

I agree

I agree with the statement and that is not necessary ,In that in tuning the greddy manually u have to do that .But if u have the software it is easier to tuned .Because u can set each at any rpm band either air fuel or ignition and injector . that if u have the full harness and software.

I know i help tuned a greddy ultimate and it was time consuming but we got it to idle then we road tune for optimum acceleration and efficiency.

I had the Emanage Blue and Emanage Ulitmate. you dont necessarily need to tune by TPS. I usually tune by boost pressure (optional boost sensor) and RPM.

TPS works normally.... I guess that popular starlet tuner is a fool because the emanage intercepts the TPS, does not replace it. if he states the TPS is either all OFF or all ON then his OEM ECU is doing that.
