The more important question is Why are you changing from the stock ignition?

Are you running aftermarket cams, boost, or such heavy mods? Toyotas come with very beefy ignition systems, as simple as they seem. Only if for some reason your stock ignition is not delivering a 100% spark then I'd suggest you change over. Sure an MSD ignition looks nice and surely performs, but unless you need a bigger spark its really not necessary.

I'd suggest you spend the money behind some cams with more aggressive profiles and some tuning.

msd would aid a easier start but it sounds like u have something else wrong

with the box and coil u gonna run lean and u would be fuel to compensate for it

actually i disagree
and not just becuase i sell ignition products

more spark equals better throttle response better fuel economy
at high revs and high boost spark become less effective leading to
black smoke and incomplete combustion which is poor efficiency.

anyone who has used nology has seen imediate improvement in throttle response
helps with that infamous dead spot, better idle less black smoke imporved fuel economy.

pass by the store sometime bring your plug and wires and ill demonstrate

ask sleeper tercel or any other nology customer and they will tell you

just my 2 cents

Exactly what did I say that you disagree with....I see nothing there. You talking about plug wires and he was referring to igntion module and coil. Hell, even I know about wear and tear on stock igntion wires....so what's ur point hombre?

lol....simmer down boys

de man getting a hard start and immediately jump to changing coil?

have you checked ur plugs? the gap? the wires?

I not disputing that these upgrades are good stuff, or the fact that Toyota already makes beefy ignition systems...but at the first sign of a little trouble with a system that has to many disposable components, I find u jump quick to throw away d ting!

lol

not picking fight here gt4
Allow me to appologize if i came off that way
just from trial i realise more spark on a 20v really makes a noticable difference, also the man said he is looking to do some mods
and from my comparison the msd arent what they are cracked up to be.
i have tested them side by side with nology and they dont stand up.

plugs the wires i described behave like amplifiers. Amplify spark 300 times the stock
hence no need for upgrade coil, spark from wires surpase msd blaster
nology also offers coils anf igniters/amplifiers if u want even more
u can check it out here there are some details
http://forums.trinituner.com/forums/vie ... highlight=

and agreed he can have a number of probs
ranging from cold start solenoid
timing
plugs
wires
dist. carbons
low compression
starter
and my personal favorite GREMLINS :D

let me know if u want 20v trouble shooting guide borrow, i have 1

Not picking a fight with anyone....as a matter of fact, I know nothing of 20valves, having never owned one. So I'll do us all a favour and shut up until someone talks about the 3sgte. :?

Sorry, I forgot that the genIII also came in the mr2 1995-1999 model. Do you have the turbo off that same mr2 though. Looking for stock genIII 3sgte cams, a set of coilovers for the celica and some 15" OZ Rallye rims (5 x 100).

GenIV you mean, from the Caldina? I heard there's an entire front clip somewhere in the bamboo. Do you have the coilovers in T&T and did you bring those in urself?

cams and engine in japan and yes gen v caldina, thats what the jap told me
they scrapped tranny off it and ecu so just engine avaliable

front half on bamboo is 25k i believe.

coilovers in jap also

will take 6 weeks to ship shocks
1 week for cams
6 weeks for engine
power fc here as well
and rims here now with tyres eh

let me know we can work out good prices
would like someone to represent the celica well
its long since been under appreciated in Trinidad
