Leaning out problem? 20V BT .

Driving down south saturday night, I noticed a very strange problem. When crusing at say 4-5K rpm for a while (5mins). The car would suddenly start to bogg badly, untill i release the X and let the rpm drop a little then start accelerating again.
When i noticed the pattern it was developing, I tried mashin clutch when it happend. I noticed the rpm raising and dropping; with each drop, getting lower and lower (with my foot steady on the X).
I have no idea what this can be. Possibly MAP or OX sensor? But no fault diagnostic codes are reading.
When driven in test mode "did the same thing" But still no record of an error.
Anyone has any clue of what to do?

Has it happened again?

Did you fill up the tank somewhere new recently?

Its not the first time its done this. But because I hardley go on long runs, I dont get the problem so often. The ONLY thing that causes it, is when the rpm is kept steady for a long time. Once it starts to bog, the only way to resolve the problem is to back off the throttle.

I did fill up in a different station recently, but dont think its the fuel quality thats causing it.

Probally check the wires or connector on the throttle position sensor, had the problem once. As for the 4AGZE there is a place in the bamboo which has the engine in an AE92 front half for $11000. First place on the right going in after Double Z

bogging sounds like fuel pressure ,

Ditto there. Could be a failing fuel pump or a failing fpr.

Ok, Ill check the wires, (although a code is usually indicated for shorts in TPS wiring), ill change the FPR and see if that solves the problem. If not, i guess ill have to take down the tank. :S

Thanks for the heads up on the GZE.

this things could be as simple as a fuel filter but is not easy to isolate sometimes. Sounds like fuel problems, but a slight chance of being electrical. If no error codes are coming up I remebered one I had a strange incident which haunted me on a 3A engine for weeks. Once the rpm got around 4k it will stutter, this problem was first thought to be fuel but my dad got to the root of the problem being the distributor!! Hope it's just fuel man!!, these little nagging things are worst than a complete shut down.

Well Im 80% sure its leaning out. Sunday mourning, I checked the condition of my plugs, Oh boy!. they were white and cruddy.
Im not losing water, so its got to be lean mixture. Now just to find out why. I changed the FPR same day, so ill make a few runs and check the condition again.
It can very well be electrical as well.

Dispite all of that, i still whooped some arse on the cross thou.
