the black top's cut is 7800, the silver is supposed to be 7400 but like corolladude said, some have it at 7200

Bottom end - the 4AGE doesn't offer much. Get is past 4,000 rpm and you will get more favourable results.
Tell us more about this engine - is it in stock form? And recent tuning?

auto or manual?
what chasis is it in?
these engines are around 160 hp @ 5500rpm 165hp@7,800 rmp 125lbs/ft
some of these engines can redline real high with just a little upgrade
I call them screamers cause they do bawl and love to spit fire
These engines can really work with upgrades such as bigger injectors, bigger fuel rail also individual throttle bodies
your engine must need a tune-up??

the 20V, both silver and blacktop come with ITB's.
I've driven some 20V's, including my own, and i can agree they do kinda "feel" lazy...but thats just the power band of the engine.
some cars feel very powerfull because of low end torque but dont have high end HP.
In my experience, a 20V doesnt have much low end power, but its a wow of an engine at high speeds. They really do go fast.
Those figures you gave (165hp) will RARELY "if ever" be found on a stock 20V, and thats at the flywheel.
They only really put out about 130whp.
But i do agree though, the 20V kinda does feel lazy...although you should keep your eyes on your speedo, cuz it might not feel powerfull but you might be goin pretty fast....but thats the silvertop, never driven a blacktop yet. just my .02
