IS a 4sfe and a 3sfe identical??

Hi all, A customer at work has blowen his 1.8 4sfe, I want to know if I can fit a 2.0 4sfe? (much cheaper and more around) Some dude told me the crankshaft size is different? To me they look identical. The car with the dead motor is a 1995 sv40 jap import vista/camry. Many thanks for your help and taking the time

They are the same series S blocks and mount placement is the same also there are parts within the engines that can be used. Normally 5sfe has the most power and displacement so the difference would be that the 5sfe has a stronger transmission than the previous of the series S blocks, also they have different patterns on the bell housings so a swap would warrant a complete change everything including crankshaft, of couse you could convince the customer to go 3sgte

Thanks! Yeah with imports being so plentiful down here we have lots of everything on the road, but all about to change with new emission laws in the works.
Just to clarifly, I can fit in the 3sfe to the vista but the 5sfe is different where the bellhousing bolts up? Thanls for the speedy reply!
