After August 2000 production run, the design team decided that rear dics weren't needed for the corollas with the light weight they carry around. Only JDM corolla you will find with rear disc is now is the Z-Aerotourers.
Singapore and all local model corollas do carry rear disc tho. It's a marketing thing.

How come the tyre warning light didnt come on? One of my tyres had a nail in it and the light came on instantly... maybe different cars, different tolerances?

Errrmmm....don't recall seeing a typre warning light on my dash. Maybe there isn't one on the rear. I checked the lines and only seeing brake line, hand brake cable and abs sensor.
