So....what i have learnt so far from my search:

1) a vigo is "lipstick on a pig" and that rust on your tray cover mechanism is "okay" and that a buss up driver seat is also "ok"

2) ppl feel toyota is what god does drive

3) a good 3.0 hilux over 5years is hard to find

Still looking tho

An another note: in the process of swtiching from 2H to 4H to 4L.... should there be any grating feeling on the range selector?

There are no synchros in the transfer case... Only switch it when you are in neutral... Not park, if it is an automatic.
I never had mine grate since reading about it
Vigo tends to have softer springs in the rear
But all those extra chrome accessories are a bit much

Changed my clutch, from stop gear 1 and reverse does is diffcult to select, any ideas? Slave looks as is engaging good, also bleed the system a few time.

Also...i need an opinion:

Found a 2011 hilux
3.0
4x4
Automatic
80,000kms
Body in 9/10 condition
Leather seats with powered driver seat (seats in great condition but back seat has a scuff)
Roll and lock tray cover/ spray on bed-liner (looks like it never carried any load)

Owner asking 175k

Is that price in the ballpark?

I think it's a little too much for a 2011, it's a lot to put out for a used vehicle, is it a one owner? I have learnt do not trust what people say when selling a vehicle. Plain out people lie to get the sale. Look at the service history of the vehicle. Call Toyota and get the last mileage. I would say around 140k max.

I agree that's a 7 year old vehicle with mileage of an about 4 year old vehicle, seems high,

That's really steep. I understand what people may ask for when selling but I think most aren't realistic. What did that sell for 7 years ago?

I'm thinking so too
But like i said, its the only thing i saw so far that's even worth considering.
The rest were either too high mileage or questionable history.

This particular vehicle isnt 1 owner,
He claims it was manager driven and owned by a company.

I was thinking 150-155k would be ideal

Ok
Thanks
I saw it 2 part #
2296 and 2015
Wasnt sure which was correct.

I just making a list of things i'll need to get sooner or later....lol

The cost savings of a k&n vs and OEM filter over time really adds up.

I had good results with k&n so far
My swift had one for 6years before it was sold.
Our grand vitara has 1 going on 7 years...going strong
My rav4 had one for 2 years before it was sold.

I think the problem ppl have with k&n is :
1) there are some filters that really dont seal properly. I was lucky to not get any of these, but i have seen them before.

2) some ppl use air to blow out the filter and this damages the element and reduces the filtering capacity of the filter.
Also, i have seen ppl use purple blaster to clean and wd40 to oil back the filters.....

3) some ppl use too much oil and it dirties the MAF sensor.

4) roughing up/mishandling the filter causes the ridges to bend and can distort the cotton element and cause the filter to get a weak spot or even a smal hole.

I never even saw the e2015 before you mentioned it... That one looks like a better fit but I can't be sure as I gave up using knfilters years ago.

I saw it as a waste of money...
I held it up to a light and saw these nice pinholes. If it is big enough for me to see then it is going to do a poor job of filtering out particles that can damage your engine.
Some fit poorly which means no real filtration.
They can foul air flow sensors
Claims of increased performance are ambitious at best... You can't get something for nothing... Increases in air flow usually come at the cost of filtration efficiency.

Reusability costs are debatable.
I use Sakura air filter units at about 110 for one... Run it for 35000kms. I will try 50000kms this time around... There are cheaper alternatives but I believe Sakura quality for air filters is decent.

But everyone has their own opinions.

I agree with you on this more air means less filtration and possibly more dust particles especially when going off road in dusty conditions
