Guys,
Scenario:
1. Trying to shift into Second gear is causing gear-clashing. (All other gears work well)
2. The clutch friction disc is pretty worn out after 80k kilometers & needs replacing.
Questions:
1. Would a worn clutch cause gear-clashing? OR is the 1-2 synchro f-ed up & needs replacing?
2. Could wrong gear oil cause this problem?
3. Could anyone recommend a "good" mechanic located in North between Arima & El Socorro & Chaguanas to first diagnose, drop the gearbox & change synchro & clutch? Preferably one who specialises in Toyotas?
4. How about rebuilding & tuning a BT20v engine....... I need a mechanic who works "by the book" to sort things out.
Plz PM replies,
Thanks.
