lol @ "turbo down"

The 2006 Corolla is the 1NZ-FE engine right? 1.5L?

After a quick search, this is the only thing I'm finding about boosted ones:

http://uaeboost.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=8282

To spend that kinda moolah just to get 150hp, totally not worth it...and if TRD decides they're not gonna push it past the 150hp mark, I don't see why you would want to either.
And then Haydn28's shopping list there is a cool $16,000 (at least) and you haven't touched internals yet. It's too much of a gamble IMO.

Now that's just based on my quick search tho eh...do a little more research into the most effective and cost efficient ways to do it (maybe some crazy Aussie has done it already, I dunno lol), but bear in mind that you have "fast", "cheap" and "reliable", but you only get to pick two.

Would be cool to see something like this done properly down here though.

Wellllllllll,
Sure you can turbo the 1NZ-FE. Toyota did it in the Modellista Yaris Turbo, and the Vios Turbo in Singapore.
But, consider these sites too:

^^^ same thing I was saying dude...the hp gains ain't worth the money spent...unless you doing it as a pips to say "yeah I got a TRD turbo set up...I have huge balls" there's no other justification

A172 is right...consider a swap (options? I dunno... 2ZZ-GE? 3S? your call) you could always scrap and/or sell back your 1NZ-FE and recover some of the money

a forged 5efte with a decent sized turbo should see that nze to ~280whp reliably and not too damaging on the pocket if you serious about a project

that'll make for a sweet daily driver man

Hook is right.
It is not worth the effort, time and money.
Why ?
At 150HP moving a car weighing a ton, chances are that many non-turbo SR20s will duss you having the torque advantage.

RR.

True that what hook said . Its a waste off money and time trust me , did one and it didnt perform at all . D turbo end up goin true before d engine , plus d [oil pressure ] is an issue so if u goin that way , u might consider an external oil pump .

x2
would love to see a 2zz in the nze141's tho.
In your case, seeing that some of the fielders come with it, it shouldnt be an issue. I believe there was a thread on it if i remember right.

Yes,
Instead of going through all that 1NZ-FE Turbo Tra-La-La, call this number 689 1819. This guy has a PBR 2ZZ-GE Fielder for sale. May be your lucky day !

This is the REAL DEAL. Not home-made.
1NZFE Turbo from the Factory.
Used in the 2007 TRD Modellista Vitz.
150 HP.

well i think nze rollas have a 10.5.1 compression ratio im not sure if pump gas could run it for long without detonation... start from a 5psi wastegate and tune your way up..

I looked long and hard into turbos and superchargers for this platform a while ago..for me the small gains wasn't worth the $$

For me a swap makes more sense that trying to squeeze power out of the 1nz-fe. The 2zz-ge is a logical choice since it is an option from Toyota. Depending on the ECU tune you would have a NA motor putting out between 170-190 BHP stock. If I had the time and $ (and an extra car) this is what I would do.

There may be other engines that are cheaper to swap but I haven't spent much time looking around.
