not so much safer for boost, it would be just a larger margin for tuning error, i woudl rather boosted high compression fully tuned anyday over a low compression boosted ride, actually when the time comes for a rebuild i would be going for 9:1 3sgte pistons over the stock compression ratio of 8.5:1
