Becoming a judge?!

Postby shake d livin wake d dead » June 9th, 2022, 10:26 am

Tried some searches but nothing on the topic. Where can I go or what courses are being offered for someone to become a certified judge for competitions etc?

I've been to some small competitions lately and I found myself questioning what it is these "judges" listen for????? These men claim to be Iasca certified etc and I'm like eh......

So any feedback is appreciated.

Approach the said judges and ask them what it takes to become certified in their body.

If I recall, the two major bodies locally introduced the "gallery" type categories to their infrastructure to adapt to the culture here. I'm not sure if there was input at all from their international governance.

Good IDBL and SQ was dead, escape route for business continuity?

d 2 main bodies locally iirc is iasca & meca , they offer courses & training so contact them

as for your last paragraph , that is a can of worms & it doesnt matter under which association, carshow, promoter. location etc, event etc everybody feels they best & shud win, ppl been arguing about results from ever since : thats nothing new

my thoughts on this subject is : as a person who been there done that & got older more mature u will realise these sound competitions things shouldnt be taken too seriously as u always gonna have well i feel this\that claims of unfairness

if u want fair non contaminated non-curry-favor unit of measurement do like what i did over 15yrs ago : build ur system to enjoy & if it happens to do good on d spl meter than thats an added benefit & if random strangers walk up & tell u they like how ur ride sounds then thats d best unbiased compliments u cud ever get ...

if u want to go learn some of d theory & topics each organization teaches & u have d sparetime & able to commit to it by all means go ahead ... always good to learn something new

Can we force judges in SQ to take a mandatory baseline audiometry test and give the test results to the competitors so that they can use it to tune their system?...

There will be another iasca judges training coming up.
