What's your location?Jeremy09 wrote:So there is no in-between sq and spl?kavaninho wrote:Jeremy09 wrote:And if am opening the doors attempting to get a little loud where is safe?timelapse wrote:In a car yes if you want your tone sounding more accurate. My door mids crossed at 60 HzJeremy09 wrote:100hz is to high for inside listening?timelapse wrote:Mids crossed too high for sq.
80 should suffice
Is either you going hard at a sq tune or you maintaining being a loudman.
@100hz its is very difficult to integrate the sub well and have it not sound localized to the rear of the vehicle. Try a the 80 hz and time align the sub!
You wont believe I was just typing this. You said it better. LolX_Factor wrote:The in-between imo is a larger speaker---say an 8 inch woofer
Or
If u sticking to the 6inch size use separate speakers instead of a component set.
Separate speakers with a bit more power handling and ts specs based on your application
E.g) sb acoustic, dayton, silver flute, stevens audio etc and match to the tweeter of your choice

I absolutely love how it sounds butt you know sometimes your may want to just get a little loud. Was wondering what i could do to be able to open the doors and get it sounding loud without changing equipment. Spec on the 6.5s attached
Every thing is separated. 3 & 4 for mids (left right) same for tweets on 1 & 2. I just attempted crossing it at 80hz with 24db slope. With the volume turned up is doesnt sound to healthy for the 6.5s naRovin wrote:how is everything connected
is 4 chan being used as each channel separately, ch 1&2 on each tweeter & ch 3\4 on each 6.5
or amp bridged so being used as a 2 chan where each half of amp is connected to 1 pair of tweeter & speaker ? ...
I tried the 80hz not to long ago. It didnt sound to healthy on the speakers passing mid vol. But i have no issues with the sound you know, it sounds great. I just wanted to know how can i get it to play louder like an SQL set up, with my doors open to get loud sometimes na, like a small galleryX_Factor wrote:that 24db slope is kinda sharp cut off at 80...you can try a 12db at 60hz or 12db at 80
Cant bridge, speakers are 4ohm.. but i understand where you coming fromrollingstock wrote:My mango tree tech advice, go passive on the tweets, bridge amp with bridged channels to mid and tweet, crossover at 160 and gee fyah. Make them mids bark.
But in honesty it's hard to get the best of both worlds. Pick a fight and stick to it because trying to get both will result to in losing both ways.
If i bridge it will go down to 2ohm. I dont believe the amp is recommended for thatrollingstock wrote:Had one bridged on a set of 3ohm infinity speakers. It's a JL amp not a boss
True enough. But x over point at 100 hz cutting off most of your midbass.Just sayingBrian Steele wrote:Getting good midbass involves a lot more than choosing some arbitrary electrical x-over point for your front speakers. For example, the x-over points should be chosen to ensure that a good phase relationship is established between the subs and front speakers through the x-over region.

Dont get it wrong guys. Good midbass does not come from crossing the fronts super low, it comes from the relationship with the sub and woofers i.e. alignment, coherency etc. .
Car audio subs generally do not do well above 80Hz.

In the process of tuning still, so no curves for my system just yet.
Just a question, I have tweeters on my dash. What frequency should I highpass at.I currently have them at 2k Hz
