Whats a good size (guage) wire to run from amp at rear of vehicle, to the 4 doors?

there are plenty speaker wire length & gauge charts online u can google ...
I am not a good candidate to answer lol. I always run heavier guage wire than I need to. Off the top of my head I would say maybe 14 or 16g but as Rovin said go find a chart and use that info.*KRONIK* wrote:LolRovin wrote:*KRONIK* wrote:Fellaz

Yea
But ideally just off the top of y'all experienced guy's heads
What works for around 80rms?
You guess good boy, yes it's for HT, but space is sort of an issue. I don't want the enclosure to have a large footprint. The area where it's going isn't that big so I was thinking the largest I could go is a 12. 2 8s in a tline would be perfect because I can keep the height short. My box man said a tline would work best inside a bigger open room.Rovin wrote:david12 wrote:Anyone here ever used the Morel Primo 8s or any of the Primo subs? if this is for HT use where most likely space is not an issue , why not go with bigger sub\s ? ....
rollingstock wrote:A t line built properly for a pair of 8's ain't no small enclosure. 4th order that 10 instead.
david12 wrote:Was hoping that it would be a similar footprint to a 12 inch ported which I know I could fit. But the issue with space lies in height. So the 8s would be better.
Front or rear ported 4th order?
I thinking 14 cuz i dont know if i may seriously expand/upgrade later on....rollingstock wrote:Yeah 16g for that, 14g if you intend to upgrade later on.
Not badRovin wrote:16g will work fine & its cheap around $8\yd for stinger ...

Just the man I wanted to hear! Thanks. I think ported may be slightly more idiot proof lol. Unless I spend my free time reading up on properly designed t lines. My box man said that he can build it but I don't think I trust him given these guys knowledge is mostly from one note wonders tuned to the sky.Brian Steele wrote:rollingstock wrote:A t line built properly for a pair of 8's ain't no small enclosure. 4th order that 10 instead.
A properly-designed TL for any driver will most times be only slightly larger in volume than a properly-designed vented box for the same driver with the same Fb (box resonance frequency).
Unfortunately there are some TL "design rules" out there that are pretty bad (taking into consideration only the driver's Sd and its Fs), and the end result when you follow them is basically a 1/4 wave "bass whistle" that will have an exaggerated response at its resonance frequency, and likely all sorts of nonsense happening further up the spectrum. If you want one-note bass, that's the way to go.
Hmmm will do some research. What sub did you use?rollingstock wrote:david12 wrote:Was hoping that it would be a similar footprint to a 12 inch ported which I know I could fit. But the issue with space lies in height. So the 8s would be better.

Rear ported for ht worked better for me.

Tweeter in question here is the arc x2s. They are rated 40rms each, my amp was rated more so i used the setting gain with DMM method to give them rated. I took some time downloaded free rta app(not accurate guess) an eq them pretty nicely on a pink noise track. However on music they still seem pretty harsh to my ear.
A friend of mines told me tweeters are to be set using your ears, is this true? If so what sounds to use to really test the tweeter and drop gain accordingly.
