SQL Silk Dome Tweets

Postby Jeremy09 » August 17th, 2021, 9:33 am

Guys good day.
So am in the process of attempting an sql build. Nothing to fancy but something decent. Am looking for some recommendations for a quaility pair of silk dome tweets for my front.
Good sounding, warm highs is the goal that will not distort at higher volumes. The midbass/mid range speaker is a pair of resilient sounds es65c rated 75rms each. This will be covering the 100hz to 2500hz range and i want the tweeter to safely cover 2500hz upwards.
My budget is $500-$700 for the pair.
It doesn't has to be sourced in trinidad,I can order online also once within the budget. More looking for experiences and recommendations.
Thanks in advance

sitting behind a screen reading specs or watching YT is all well\good but it wud be far better going to local audio shops & take a listen for ur own self as ppl's ears\taste are different , what crossover point u use & amt of power applied is another thing too ... dont let silver tongue store owners chain u up : u choose what sounds best to ur ears, thats always how i run my operation from day 1

i myself prefer soft dome over metal but i actually heard some metal 1s that sound fairly good too ...

Resilient Sounds has a matching tweeter the model number is EST-1 they're silk dome. I love the brand can't help but recommend them. Definitely get demos of different tweeters before buying a set. Btw did you bring in those midbasses? or bought them from the dealer? if you don't mind me asking.

Brought them in, but i believe kaizan has them for $1200 a pair.
I saw they have a matching tweeter set, but they are soft cone tweeters, i did a bit of research and they were saying that cone tweeters are not as good quality as the soft dome tweeters

Your right, but honestly there are so many brands and audio shops in trini, which is why i am banking personal experience as we know the audio shops will say anything. I plan on crossing the tweeter at 25khz and am looking for it to cover that 25khz to 20khz range. I have approx 45rms to power each tweeter with a budget of $500-700 for the pair

The digital designs T2 tweeter is a good option. It think it is under $500.00 iirc. The tweeter isn't harsh and gets loud.

check safe and sound, they just got some sql tweets from one of the past owners/ engineers of DLS. It looks just like the silk domes but with a horn attached.
