Efficiency changes when u change the loading, so affects power draw/output/heat ratios.

The theory is double and half and what not.
But watching big d wiz multiple tests, the real world performance is dependent on individual amp design.

And watching barevids explain amps, u see how the components done behave linearly.

So, u would expect better efficiency with a certain impedence, , but get worse, and vice versa.

Plenty is also back emf from the subs too. At certain frequencies.

build is like 90% completed. What killing me now, is taking a chance during the SOE to go an tune.

From the Orion HCCA manual... "Please Note: Due to the extremely long excursion and high temperature possibilities of this woofer, it is recommended that when the woofer is installed it be positioned so that the cone either faces upward or downward only."

Jus sayin; :-)

Looks like that build is going to make some beastly bass....

Didnt go to test bassline...we took a chance with the mids but some minor touching up to do now. Time align and then test bass to see what missing.
X_Factor wrote:nice, how the voltage holding ?

As we only tested midrange, voltage kept at 14.2-14.4.....about 2 hours jamming

Is that the RTA mic laying on the ground taking the measurement?

Correct is right. The driverack was programmed before we went out into the open to make final adjustments. This took some time as we did not want to chance the weather. Took at least another 45 mins out in the open to get it going (pink noise, time delays etc)

Actually, if you were doing what's called a "ground plane" measurement, it can be quite accurate.

Tbh, I didnt really ask much questions as I have a lot of faith in the tuner. Once it was pleasing to my ear in the end...it was all good!

I was made aware of the pink noise aspect, time alignment etc when we were out in the open.
