Cutting pigtails to tweeter.

I saw this in a classifieds thread.If for example you have a two way 4 ohm coaxial and you don't want the tweeter playing, how will disconnecting the tweeter affect performance, amp load etc? Will it overheat the amp, trip it? I'd really like to know.Thanks

Its fine, you can snip the tweeter leads off. A coax is no different from a comp set, both has woofer, tweeter and a passive xover.
There are some sets that are convertible coax/comp.
