Not really the kinda thing you will find in here but I have a major problem with motor noise.
The system in question, they do not have parts for and its a sizeable system for someone bedroom. I got a replacement motor, there was a hum, returned it and got another, still a hum.
Purchased a new motor, ran it, its silent. Its designed for units that are small in size and compact, no large panels. When you rest it on a box there is a hum. So if it's installed where I want to install it, it will hum. It's being used in an application it wasn't designed for.
I used some gasket material from dumore and it eased up a lot. Thing is, the gasket material is thick. Will sound dampening material do any damage? Has anyone ever used it for such?
