So why you want a DSP?

If you don't know how to tune it, it can actually make your music sound worst. What's the intention?

I just want one.

Is a cheap head unit I have, AVH 490BS. One in the surf and the other in the Hilux. Just your normal run of the mill unit.

I want to play around with it and figure it out. The tuning would be the issue.

I think you just have too much money and don't know what to do with it.

That headunit has enough processing for a daily system, network mode to run a 3 way system, time alignment and built in crossover etc.

Learn the equipment you do have before adding more

When I come off work, I'll let you know how it works out.

I saw that I had half sheet of MDF and I have a TR7510-22 - MTX 10" laying around. Decided to try an experiment. Built a wedge box and drop in the speaker and using the Pioneer amp.

That thing sounding better that the two MTX 12" I have.

Will look at doing some cosmetic work on the box and that will be my bass line.

Gained a lot more trunk space too.

this simply proves a sub close to suitable specs will outperform 2 or more subs in improper specs box ...

Unable to attach the PDF document, you will just have to search for it online.

Anybody did a bazooka baseline using PVC tube?

How does it compare to a bass box?

It does be a beyotch to move the box when I have additional cargo to carry.

I used to have a Champion series Pioneer 12 in a cardboard tube bazooka back in the days.I find the pvc is too thin for all that power.
Didn't know about measuring frequencies at the time, but it was 'boomy' if I can describe it as that.It was longer than the bass box with the same volume.
What sub you want to use, and how big of a space you want to fit it in? Can work out some figures for you.
Also, that's the same reason I went fiberglass.I have my entire trunk space to work with, especially when I have to take my dogs to the vet.

What would you say was thin?
1/2" wall thickness?

PVC is usually 1/2" thick.

I want to take the MTX 10" and put it in.

Was more around the convince of moving the sub around when I have stuff to carry.

My sub box is about 30 something" long.

Always wanted to try doing something like this as a small project. But with 1/2" thick pvc being light, hard and thin wouldn't it just have too much resonance of the enclosure?

Which is why I used the cardboard shipping tube.it was about 3/4 " thick.
If you going pvc, sound dampen the exterior,as it makes a pinging noise.Ole school maxi music used to sound so.

bazooka u say , taking us all back to d 80s & 90s here

always wanted to try it but where u getting big thick pvc pipes like 10" or 12" unless u have famlee wukkin wasa or u have famlee living in usa who willing to ship down those thick cardboard tubes they use for concrete footings

imo its not hard to make an octogon with normal 3\4 mdf & put d sub\port at d end of d octogon ... JL has a similar factory box like it

Cylindrical enclosures are self-reinforcing, so you can get away with thinner walls for the cylinder. I/2" PVC should be fine for a bass tube based around a 10" driver.

Securely fastening the driver to one end and the end-cap to the other are likely to be your main problems. There's also likely to be a notch in the response curve where the length of the tube is 1/4 wavelength of the frequency at the center of the notch, but that's likely to be above the range that you're going to use the subwoofer anyway.

Steele, you sound like a guy that experiments...
How would an rcf type sub enclosure sound in a car?
