Suzuki swift sport Audio

Postby BoostedRicer » October 28th, 2018, 8:01 pm

Hey guys good night
I have a Suzuki swift sport 2013 and I am satisfied with the Audio system in it but I am looking to get something sounding better.
The bass is just lacking in the car and at higher volumes the sound quality is complete garbage
One more criteria is that I do not wish to replace the head unit
I want to keep the car looking as stock as possible interior and exterior.
Please drop your reccomendations and other details ( cost , location , shop etc )
Thank u a lot guys

6.5" Comps to the front, coax to the rears, dsp with hi-level inputs, 5 channel amp and sealed sub in the trunk.

Under floor sub build, fiberglass sub box on the side of the trunk.
Does your model have the spare or the repair kit?

If its a swift sport then there is no spare. Can do a totally stealth system installed in 1 day with oem interfacing

Retaining your oem HU and adding an amplifier would require a dsp with hi level inputs which will cost around $2500.00 at least?
5ch amp- $2000.00 at least?

There are a few amps with wired inputs for stock head units. Alpine has one. Clarion has and where you have RCA's you can simple buy the bare connectors and wire them in.

I would not suggest you go down that route, as you are not correcting any of the problems coming from the radio's signal and just amplifying them. I can't stress enough how much a dsp is needed when retaining a stock HU.

I talked to jdmmaster in south he said for 1200$ he would change the dooor speakers to mtx ones and use pods so the doors wouldn’t rattle much.
Do you think that is decent ?
Everything costs round 1200

Post model of speakers. Are they comps/coax?
Also, adapter baffles are mandatory, preferably plastic or acrylic for your doors. Rattles are generally remedied by sound damping material and not the speaker adapter/pod itself.

OP you can look at the kicker key amp or something like the Sony XM-GS6DSP if you going subwoofer route.

5k or less for a full system with oem head unit???? Sorry i will have to decline any further options that i would recomend. You can look at a cheap 5 channel that takes speaker input for less than 2k and a pre made sub box for around 1k or less and then you have installation wiring and labor unless its a diy.

I said I didn’t want it to take up any space in the trunk either so I think my best option is upgraded door speakers right now .
5 k should be more than enough for upgraded door spekers etc

A good ported enclosure that fits in the storage area in the trunk of a swift sport is approx 2200.

Pity that I am now seeing this thread OP. I did it to my last car which was exactly what you have...sold it two weeks ago with the sound system. The new owner moves along the East-West corridor. I got my build done for about 6-7k because I was fortunate enough to get good advice, steals of deals on the components and did the labour myself. To replicate what I did, even with your own labour, expect to spend no less than 8k. Here's what the car has:

OEM head unit
JL Audio clean sweep processor
JBL GTO 3 Channel amp (50w x 2 to the front under Class AB circuitry and 500w x 1 to the sub under a Class D topology)
DLS 6.5" components in the front doors (I think it was the RS series...can't remember) on a 1/2" mdf spacer
Front doors dynamat sealed
Rear door speakers were not removed but disconnected because the amp is just a 3 channel...if you want rear fill, you'll need a 5channel amp.
2 x JL audio 8w3v3 8" subs in a 0.6 cubic ft. sealed enclosure...small as it was, it still took up about 50% or more of the hatch space.
