w.t.k. pioneer 12" subwoofer

Postby driftkid » August 20th, 2016, 7:48 pm

Could anyone tell me which 12" pioneer sub will perform better, the old model 12" with the carbon fibre cone or the new champion series 12"?????

I had the privilege of using both and I can safely say I got my monies worth...both subs are good for the price...under recommended power and proper enclosure they would deliver..I'm not sure if the old carbon fibre ones are easy to find but the champion series is readily available..

they not that hard to check....

Physical

Suspension and other moving parts should b free of puncture and rips etc. Ensure "spider " is not dead by being overly depressed. Slight is no big thing.
Electrical

Each Coil should read abt 3.4-3.8ohms, assuming its dual 4. Get a very bright light and look at coils through side vents. Try to look at as much of the coil by oscillating cone up and down. Coils should be have an even colour through out. If u notice any varnish runs, uneven colour....the coil is on its way out.

If you buying the carbon fiber one, make sure it not too beat out, because that suspension gonna start showing the white fibres soon.
